Tummy Tuck Recovery Items
I can’t believe it’s finally here! I am going in for my abdominoplasty this morning (I’ve had this booked for 6 months) and I have found that being very prepared is the best way to calm these fiery nerves. I have done the reading, I know what to expect, and I am prepared to make the most of the tough recovery process.
Before I get to the items - I want to talk first about the household prep. I won’t be able to tackle a lot of the big house stuff for a few weeks, so I went hog wild doing a deep clean to prepare. It felt GOOD. We’ve had conversations with the our kids to manage expectations, and between Danny and our moms, we will be all set! Do not be afraid to ask for help. This is me calling the kettle black as this is HARD for me, but I am trying to be better.
Girlfriends - they want to help. My sweet friend wanted to organize a meal train for us and I had such guilt around that until she reminded me friends WANT to help their friends. I am learning to lean in when it is hard for me since I like to be the one helping, nurturing and doing all the things myself. Since this surgery is elective, it just feels different. I have had to get over that!
Batch cooking - I also did a ton of stuff to have in the freezer and prep for the kids lunches for the first week. Nutrition is also high on priority list, so fueling them, and myself, is very important to me!
My post op nutrition - I am going to focus on a greens powder, homemade bone broth, toast, a protein shake and lots of hydration for the first few days after surgery.
In my extensive research into the world of tummy tucks, I compiled a huge list of items I think will be helpful for me, post surgery. I linked everything I could!
Any questions? Just let me know! I’ll take all the love and prayers - thanks for following along!
In health,
Stephenie
